This gallery is a collection of pictures that we've taken at club events along the way. This is a work-in-progress... we'll be continually adding pictures as our club grows. Check back often.
We invite you to browse the pictures in the gallery. They should give you a better feel for the ground we've covered and the fun we've had. For those of you who participated in these events, they will jog your memories! Enjoy!
About 20 enthusiastic NASCAR fans gathered at Colony Cottage Recreation Center to kick off the Sprint Cup season. The food was fabulous and the company even better - trash talking included.
Unfortunately Mother Nature "dampened" the excitement a bit and the group headed home during the red flag - around 4 p.m.
Mike Anderson ran a Pick the Top 3 contest.
The seventh annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony was held on January 11, 2014 at Colony Cottage Recreation Center. The night's keynote speaker was none other than Tony Modica, on-air host for Sports Radio 930AM in Jacksonville, Fla.
On December 14, 2013 club members brought their golf carts to The Villages Polo Fields for the annual parade. Although we didn't get many pictures, everyone had a great time.
On October 12, 2013 more than 20 club members were treated to an exciting Hornet race at Citrus County Speedway.
After finishing third last year, Jerry "Flash" Conkle was looking for more. Rookie driver "Mean Gene" White was ready to show what he had.
"Flash" took the early lead in the 15-lapper, but "Mean Gene" powered to the front after a few laps. White hugged the inside line, while Conkle was high, wide and handsome during the middle of the race. White led until Conkle made an impressive pass on the outside coming out of turn four on the final lap.
"Flash" held on for the win and the crowd went wild. "Mean Gene" came in second. The truth be known, there were just two Hornets entered.
Later, "Flash" shocked the crowd in Victory Lane when he announced his retirement from racing.

Our club's October 5 Yard Sale and Bake Sale was a tremendous success.
Thanks and Congratulations to the members who pitched in to help out on this project, and especially to the club members and residents of Millwood Way in Winifred for arranging and hosting the multi-location event.
After the sale ended, we were able to sit down and share some pizza and stories.
