Photo Gallery

This gallery is a collection of pictures that we've taken at club events along the way. This is a work-in-progress... we'll be continually adding pictures as our club grows. Check back often.

We invite you to browse the pictures in the gallery. They should give you a better feel for the ground we've covered and the fun we've had. For those of you who participated in these events, they will jog your memories! Enjoy!

Great Race Soiree

The Villages took center stage when the 2014 edition of The Great Race ended its Maine to Florida run at Lake Sumter Landing.

On June 28 a pre-finish-line party was held around Market Square. Our club was among many with a display showing what our club is all about and the activities we engage in. We also had the cars for two club members on display.

Buster Burt Memorial Races

On Feb. 19, 2014 we lost venerable club member, Buster Burt. Most of us recall Buster's role in the start up of the radio-controlled car racing program, now operated by The Villages R/C Racing Club.

On May 24, 2014 as a memorial to his years as a racer, historian and dear friend, The Villages R/C Club staged the Buster Burt Memorial Race at SeaBreeze Recreation Center.

Breakfast with Marvin Panch

On May 8, 2014 a contingent of 16 of our Thursday morning Bob Evans breakfast group traveled to Deland. We had the pleasure of meeting Hall of Famer (Class of 2011) Marvin Marvin at a local breakfast house known as Doug & Lil's Potato Patch, and it was a great morning for all of us! Despite the early hour, Dick and Mary Anderson joined us for this epic event.

2014 Night Golf Scramble

On Wednesday, March 26, 2014, a zealous group of golfers braved chilly temperatures for a fun-filled night of golf.

Golfers met at the Laurel Manor Rec Center Pavilion for a pot luck dinner. Then the action moved to the Saddlebrook Golf Course.

First up was putting with a driver, followed by putting backwards between the legs. A shot-gun start, best-ball scramble completed the night. Congratulations to the scramble winners: Marcos & Elaine Seanko and Bill & Estelie Budds.

2014 Club Cookout

A cookout replaced our March 5 regular club meeting. Members gathered at the Lake Miona Rec Center Pavilion to enjoy some great food off the grill.

Club favorite Dora Thorne brought her Street Stock for everyone to see. In fact, members donated $5 each for the honor of autographing the roof of Dora's ride.

We also celebrated Wayne Nolan's birthday by sharing a delicious cake.
